CannyChef ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use CannyChef, we collect:

• Account information — your name and email address
• Recipe data — recipes you save, including titles, ingredients, instructions, and images
• Meal plan data — meals you schedule for the week
• Shopping list data — items you check off or add manually
• App preferences — settings such as your target dinner time

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the CannyChef app
• To sync your data across devices
• To send cooking reminders and notifications (only if you enable them)
• To generate recipe sharing links when you choose to share a recipe

AI Recipe Import

When you use the "Paste Recipe Text" feature, the text you paste is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to parse and structure the recipe. This text is processed solely to extract recipe information and is not stored or used for training. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Recipe Sharing

When you choose to share a recipe, a unique link is generated. Anyone with that link can view the recipe on cannychef.com. You control when to share — recipes are private by default until you explicitly share them.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all your recipes, meal plans, shopping data, and account information.

Children's Privacy

CannyChef is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
